Francesca Chaher

Originally from Tubarao, Brazil, Francesca Chaher started playing at the age of 5 since her parents were tennis instructors. She moved by herself to Balneario Camboriu when she was 13 years old to pursue her dream of playing professionally.

Fran has played many national and international juniors tournaments in South America and Europe. She was ranked in the Top 4 of Brazil in 2008.

She said, “I used to be part of a very intensive tennis program. I used to practice from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the court, and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. we had conditioning. We also had practices on Saturdays, and on Sundays, we would watch videos of the best tennis players in the world to analyze their ground strokes and behavior. I learned the importance of being determined and a hard worker, but most importantly, I realized the importance of having a good coach by my side. My coaches became my second family and I started playing so much better when I started listening to their feedback.”
