Val Goncalves Jr.
Valentim Goncalves Jr. is the Manager and Director of Tennis at RG Tennis Center. He coached many players at RGTC as the Head Professional prior to stepping up to this leadership role.
Coach Val was born in Curitiba, Brazil. Before joining the University of Pacific Tigers in Stockton, California. Valentim was a state tennis champion for several years. He also managed to crack the Top 10 in the Brazilian national tennis rankings for multiple years.
Valentim holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Management, a Minor in Marketing, and a certificate in Supply Chain Logistics from the University of West Florida. Valentim had a fantastic junior’s career being one of the top players in his state as well as overall in his home country of Brazil.
Additionally, Val played some professional tournaments, futures and challengers (ATP) before deciding to play college tennis. Valentim played at the University of the Pacific during his freshman and sophomore years and at the University of West Florida for the remaining 2 years of his eligibility, which includes a Division II National Championship in 2014. Val also has a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in Supply Chain Logistics Management.
Coach Val has also been a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the University of West Florida Tennis Teams since 2015.

Valentim loves coaching because he can help athletes to succeed on the court as well as in the classroom and with their personal lives. For Coach Val, a positive attitude is important to excel in anything. Val likes to counsel his athletes and builds relationships by mentoring them to make the best decisions on and off of the court.
